🧼 Mike’s Mission: Cleaning the Whole of the UK — One Job at a Time
Decent CleanersShare
There’s something powerful about a clean street, a shiny car, a bin that doesn’t stink, or windows so clear you forget the glass is even there. My name’s Mike — I’m the founder of DecentCleaners, and I’ve set out to do something a bit mad…
I want to clean the entire UK.
Where It Started
It started simple. I didn’t have a massive team, or vans with fancy logos. I just had a pressure washer, a second-hand lawn mower, a phone, and a pair of hands that weren’t afraid of hard work.
I was walking the streets in Manchester — handing out flyers, knocking on doors, offering to clean anything that needed it. Car washes, bins, windows, front steps, gardens, pressure washing — if it was dirty, I was cleaning it.
And I was good at it. People started noticing.
Why the UK?
Because the problem isn’t just in one city. Look around — we’ve got overflowing bins, neglected shopfronts, mossy driveways, car parks that stink of rain and oil, and taxis that haven’t seen a decent scrub in weeks.
People are busy. Councils are stretched. But the mess keeps building up.
So I thought — why wait for someone else to fix it?
Why not be the guy who does?
The Plan
This isn’t just talk. Here’s how I’m doing it:
-
Local First – I’m building up my base in Manchester. We’ve got Uber drivers subscribing to monthly washes, businesses calling us for bin cleaning, and people booking us to pressure wash their homes. Every clean is one step forward.
-
Tech Second – We’re launching a mobile app that makes booking a service as easy as ordering food. Press a button, and we show up.
-
Expansion Next – Once we’ve mastered one city, we move to the next. Birmingham, Leeds, London, Sheffield. One by one. Building teams. Training cleaners. Keeping standards high.
-
Jobs Everywhere – I’m not just cleaning. I’m creating work. Giving people a way out of sitting around. If you’re willing to hustle, I’ll find you something to clean.
Why It Matters
Clean spaces make people feel better.
They boost businesses.
They show pride.
And honestly — the UK needs some of that right now.
I’m not waiting for a government grant or a big investor. I’m doing this with what I’ve got, and every clean I do is funding the next one.
